Neumann releases firmware 2.0 for the MT 48 audio interface.

Neumann.Berlin has announced the release of firmware version 2.0 for the MT 48 audio interface. The update is available free of charge starting June 15, 2026, and introduces plug-in integration, scalable Dante connectivity, and new options for broadcast workflows and monitoring.

The update enables the use of external plugins running directly from the internal DSP at low latency, expanding functionality previously limited to the Anubis platform. Add-ons are available for purchase separately:

  • Eventide Blackhole Reverb: €209.00
  • Merging + Deesser: €209.00

Network connectivity is expanded with support for Dante-Ready configurations in 8x8, 16x16, 32x32, and 64x64 formats. This expansion is also compatible with the Merging Anubis and Hapi Mk III devices; activation requires purchasing a license via the Dante Activator within the Dante Controller.

For broadcast, the firmware includes support for the AMBEO 2 Channel Live Broadcast encoder, which allows immersive live content to be encoded into a two-channel format for playback on standard stereo speakers. It also introduces support for the LAWO HOME management platform and a revamped graphical interface called Advanced Pages for accessing system settings.

The interface's operation is updated through two specific sections:

  • Music Mission: Integration of N-1 mixing and Talkback Dim function for automatic attenuation of monitoring volume.
  • Monitor Mission: Ability to group speakers and sources, introduction of L/R Flip function for phase control and customizable downmix rules.

The release also includes bug fixes, general performance optimizations, and improved USB compatibility with current versions of the macOS operating system.
