Milestone has released Screamer, a new arcade racing title, is available today on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game sets its competitions in a dystopian world with anime aesthetics, focusing on an illegal racing tournament managed by the character Mr. A. The narrative, developed in collaboration with animation studio Polygon Pictures, involves five teams of racers and features a voice cast that includes Troy Baker and Aleks Le.

The gameplay system is based on the Echo System, technology that manages Sync resources, dedicated to Boost and Shield, and Entropy, used for offensive maneuvers Strike and Overdrive. Vehicle control utilizes the Dual Stick system, which separates steering management from drifting. Each character has specific abilities derived from fighting games and a dedicated soundtrack.
The contents include:
-
32 tracks divided into four original environments.
-
Career Mode, Overdrive Challenge, Score Attack, Time Attack, and Checkpoint.
-
Multiplayer with ranked team races, private lobbies, and Mixtape playlists.
-
Local split-screen mode for up to four players.
All modes are accessible from launch without the need for progressive unlocking. The title also integrates a reward system based on cosmetic items, movies, and additional illustrations.
