Supermassive Games today announced a new sci-fi survival horror adventure game (in other words, a cinematic horror experience). The Dark Pictures: Directive 8020 This is a new title in the Dark Pictures series coming to PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The studio, creator of Until Dawn and The Quarry, combines survival gameplay with a complex plot in this new title, where Hollywood actress Lashana Lynch plays astronaut Young. The game offers new features, such as persistent real-time threats, new stealth mechanics, and improved interactive cinematic sequences, powered by Unreal Engine 5.
The plot revolves around a dying planet Earth. Twelve light-years away, the planet Tau Ceti f offers a sliver of hope. When the colonial ship Cassiopeia crash-lands there, the crew soon realizes they are not alone. Hunted by an alien organism capable of mimicking its prey, the crew of the Cassiopeia must outwit their pursuers to make it back home alive. As they fight for survival, they are faced with the hardest decision of all: to save themselves, they must risk the lives of everyone on Earth. In space, death takes many forms.
