A new trailer has revealed the official release date of Terranigma, a Super Famicon (SNES) classic set for next January 14, 2027 on PC and consoles. The announcement, accompanied by gameplay clips, confirms the desire to recreate the original experience while enriching it with several, so to speak, modern features.
Among the main new features is Arranged Mode, a revamped mode that introduces changes to the original mechanics designed to facilitate progression: increased magic damage, a minimap to facilitate exploration, and the ability to save your progress at any time. These improvements are especially intended for those approaching the masterpiece Quintet for the first time. On the technical front, the edition includes a CRT filter and multiple screen formats to replicate the aesthetics of the original version, as well as a quick magic button, quick item swapping, customizable high-resolution backgrounds, a music player, a museum, a rewind function, and remappable controls.
Terranigma will be distributed digitally on PC via Steam and GOG, while on consoles it will be available both digitally and physically.. I am pthree editions were published: Standard Edition, SteelBook Edition and the richer Gaia Edition.
