Sony announces 1000X THE COLLEXION headphones and a new color for the WH-1000XM6 model.

To coincide with the 10th anniversary of the 1000X range, Sony has announced the launch of a new model of premium headphones in Switzerland, called 1000X THE COLLEXION, and the introduction of the Grès colour variant for the WH-1000XM6 model.

The 1000X THE COLLEXION headphones feature structural modifications focused on design and materials, such as a metal headband with a matte sandblasted finish, hand-crafted polished details, and leatherette upholstery. The audio department is based on a driver developed with a flexible edge and a unidirectional carbon composite dome, with acoustic calibration refined in collaboration with mastering engineers.

The device borrows its active noise cancellation technology from the WH-1000XM6 model, taking advantage of 12 built-in microphones and the Adaptive NC Optimizer system. Hardware and software features include the DSEE Ultimate upscaling system based on Edge-AI and the 360 Reality Audio Upmix function, which offers three spatial optimization modes dedicated to music, cinema and gaming, selectable via the Sound Connect app or the touch controls on the body.

The battery life is rated at up to 24 hours with Bluetooth connectivity and noise cancellation enabled, increasing to 32 hours with noise cancellation turned off. The product uses approximately 25% recycled plastic in the body components and carrying case, which features a magnetic closure and tactile inserts for easy accessibility.

At the same time, Sony has expanded the range of WH-1000XM6 headphones with the new Grès colour, which adds to the five shades already available on the market while keeping the technical specifications of the base model unchanged.

The 1000X THE COLLEXION will be available from May 19, 2026, in Platinum and Black at a suggested retail price of CHF 529. The WH-1000XM6 in Grès will be available from the end of May 2026 at a suggested retail price of CHF 449.
