Placed there like this vertically it reminds me of a Wii without the "sbièes" cut rather than a PS1 😀
The nice things are the screen prints, but apart from that I'm not very enthusiastic about them. And thank goodness, because I think it will be impossible to obtain!
I agree, it doesn't seem like much. The fact that there are only 12,000 or so seems like a shot in the foot to me. Since there are too few to hope to own one—in addition to objectively lacking much appeal—it won't mobilize the big guns to snap it up. Honestly, they could have thought of something better to celebrate the twentieth anniversary. It almost seems like they realized at the last minute that there was a twentieth anniversary to celebrate:
[genius on duty] “Damn, guys, do you remember that we have to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the PS1 soon?”
[young genius] “Well, come on, let's take a normal one, spray it gray, and that's it. It was a brick before, it's still a doorstop today! Then we'll invent something about the number, small to have less hassle in producing it (with the excuse of the limited edition...), so that people say: cool, you! And we're fine! At most, some old fogey who was young in the PS1 days will be disappointed, but after all, the target of today's gamer is 15-year-olds and they don't even know what the PS1 is, let alone if they'd waste their pocket money celebrating the birthday of a gray brick.”
Miii independent, are you mad at Sony or am I wrong? 😀 😀 Anyway, it's not like they've prepared things in a bad way, given the mega event in Las Vegas and the one in London. The only thing that's done a bit like that is this PS4. I would have preferred a modern reissue of the PS1 instead!
But no, I don't hate Sony, also because thanks to them we were able to experience a lot of beautiful games.
But I hate these commercial releases built around... nothing (and by nothing I mean this console). Like you, I would have preferred a modern re-release of the PS1... but instead, "nada de nada.".
Personally, I don't care much about the mega event, like most players. Because in the end, the players don't get anything out of these celebrations.
Of a very cool edition of the PS1 with the capabilities of the PS4 instead…!
They could have done this edition at any time without having to wait for the 20th, it has nothing commemorative in my opinion, that's the fact.
I agree, it's a shame not to make a product (if you really want to) that is 1. accessible to everyone 2. truly commemorative for this occasion
