Samsung has announced the market availability of its latest monitors from the Odyssey and ViewFinity S8 ranges, aimed at the gaming and professional sectors respectively. According to data from International Data Corporation (IDC), the manufacturer holds an 18.91% share of revenue in the global gaming monitor market and a 26% share in the OLED gaming display segment.
The Odyssey line is enriched with three models from the series G8 and of the model G7. The monitor Odyssey G8 32-inch (model G80HS) offers 6K resolution with a refresh rate of 165Hz, which can reach 330Hz in 3K resolution via Dual Mode. The 27-inch model (G80HF) offers 5K resolution at 180Hz or up to 360Hz in QHD.
The version Odyssey OLED G8 (model G80SH), available in 27- and 32-inch sizes, uses a Penta Tandem QD-OLED panel with 4K resolution at 240 Hz, supported by Glare Free anti-glare technology, DisplayPort 2.1 and USB-C connectivity with power delivery up to 98 W. The 32-inch variant is also VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified. The entire G8 range supports AMD FreeSync Premium, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible technologies and the HDR10+ GAMING standard.
THE'’Odyssey OLED G7 The 32-inch (model G73SH) features a 4K resolution at 165Hz, configurable in FHD up to 330Hz via Dual Mode, with a response time of 0.03ms from gray to gray.
For the professional field, the range ViewFinity S8 introduces the 40-inch model (S85TH), featuring a 144Hz WUHD curved display and equipped with Thunderbolt 5 connectivity with transfer speeds up to 80Gbps and charging up to 140W. The 27-inch model (S80HF) offers 5K resolution with a USB-C port for data transmission and power delivery.
