Pokémon Presents, as usual, brings many new features to the world of Pokémon Monsters. Thirty years ago, Pokémon Green and Red were released on the same date today. For the thirtieth anniversary, The Pokémon Company (TPC) has several new features in store, marking a turning point compared to recent years. But let's proceed in order. Without further ado, finally the long-awaited announcement of the tenth generation: Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Waves.
Before going into the merits of the tenth gen., the event also outlined the contents for Pokémon Champions, which finally has a release date. Finally, we dare say, TPC has finally separated itself from competitive gaming by offering a unique game, bringing together all the turn-based combat mechanics of today in one place, offering an application suited to the eSports world. Champions is coming first to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 this April, followed by Android and iOS mobile devices. For nostalgic fans, the return of the classics is confirmed. Fire Red and Green Leaf to be downloaded separately as Roma Separate, Nintendo Switch Online+Add-on Pack will be available from March Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness released in 2005 on Nintendo Gamecube. There is also a new mega evolution for Pokémon Legends ZA, namely Mega Garchomp Z, and updates to mobile applications including Pokémon GO and Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
The main course, which would then be the closing trailer, is precisely the tenth generation which is expected for the 2027, as flagship titles for the new Nintendo Switch 2. The main series games promise an open world experience directly evolving from Scarlet and Violet, Set in a vast tropical archipelago inspired by Southeast Asia, it's clear from the first moments of the trailer that the graphics are a leap forward (thankfully) compared to the ninth generation, which featured a dynamic weather system and day-night cycles that radically influence the behavior of wild Pokémon and island exploration.
The beating heart of the presentation was the debut of the new starters, which have already divided and enthralled the community: the little Grass-type bird Browt, the lively fire cub Pombon and the elegant water gecko Gecqua. Browt stands out for its silly and intellectual design, while Pombon, inspired by a Pomeranian, has already become a social media favorite for its adorable aesthetic. Gecqua, on the other hand, seems to be evolving more refined and tactically. Early analysis suggests these companions will be essential not only in battle but also for interacting with their surroundings, using their unique abilities to overcome the new region's natural obstacles.
