The absence of a new Nintendo Direct with many announcements was really starting to be felt. After many months of waiting, Nintendo broadcast the entire presentation on YouTube, lasting well over 40 minutes. The titles described below will all be released for Nintendo Switch 2; in some cases, the writer will specify availability for the original Switch.

Among the protagonists, finally appears Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, whose date has been revealed and is practically around the corner, namely the September 17, 2026. This time, the story will focus on four heroes, each with their own background and motivations, as the series' canonical turn-based chessboard system with an isometric view is confirmed. Among other first-party titles, it also features Splatoon Raiders, the single-player spin-off of the series Splatoon, was unveiled today with a new trailer. The game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 July 23rd. Nintendo has also confirmed a special presentation dedicated to it, scheduled for June 30th. A special edition of the Joy-Con 2 will be available at launch: the shell will be black/graphite with blue and yellow accents to match the theme.

From third parties, Capcom is among the most present publishers on the new platform, with the announcement of Onimusha: Warlords, scheduled for On September 25, 2026, simultaneously with the other platforms. Onimusha was born 25 years ago on PlayStation 2 and is known for its action system. It is also compared to Resident Evil, a title that its creators drew inspiration from. Onimusha: Warlords, Capcom immerses the player in the Edo period, where you play as a hero capable of defeating demonic creatures with the aid of the Oni Gauntlet. For this chapter, Capcom has created a combat system where the use of melee weapons aided by essential techniques are necessary to take down more complex opponents.

If Onimusha wasn't enough, the announcement of Dragon's Dogma 2 Dark Arisen, which is the expanded version of Dragon's Dogma 2, can only please those who wished to play this title portably, known for its optimization issues, particularly related to the CPU on less powerful hardware like the Steam Deck. The Dark Arisen expansion certainly recalls the one released for the first chapter, which will include in the second chapter a new region to explore, called Norgan. The release is scheduled for next. October 9, 2026.

Among the third parties that have caused discussion in recent years, Shift UP stands out: during today's presentation, they announced the arrival of Stellar Blade on the Nintendo Switch 2, expected during 2026 without an exact date. The gameplay shows that the Switch 2 version faithfully maintains the experience of the PS5 and PC versions, bringing one of the most acclaimed action games of the moment to the hybrid console. Square Enix is also present, announcing the arrival of Kingdom Hearts Collection [I-III] for Nintendo Switch 2, expected in’October 8, 2026. The collection includes HD remasters of the first chapters (1.5+2.5 ReMIX), the final prologue with three key contents (including Dream Drop Distance HD, the film Back Cover And the episode 0.2 Birth by Sleep), and the full version Kingdom Hearts III integrate with the DLC Re: Mind, which sees Sora, Donald, and Goofy fighting against Organization XIII to save the Disney and Pixar worlds. But not only the Collection of past titles, but also Kingdom Hearts 4 arrives on Nintendo Switch 2, which is presented with a new and unprecedented trailer. Furthermore, Square Enix has also revealed Final Fantasy Resonance, the first HD-2D chapter of the saga. The game combines pixel art characters with 3D environments, reviving the visual style inaugurated with the first Octopath Traveler, and it will be available on October 22nd on Nintendo Switch 2 (and the original Nintendo Switch).

It's not missing either Dragon Quest, with the announcement of the spin-off Dragon Quest Monsters: The Sunken Kingdom, shown with a new trailer. Already announced last year, the release date is now set for December 3, 2026. FromSoftware, on the other hand, has revealed a new trailer for The Duskbloods, the exclusive multiplayer title planned for Nintendo Switch 2, Which provides for a closed network test this summer. From the collaboration with Poncle and Shueisha Games, Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survival it is, dare we say, the spin-off of Vampire Survivors on the subject Jujutsu Kaisen, to the extent that it is effectively a standalone chapter Coming soon by the end of the current year. The Direct is concluding with a first-party title of significant historical weight, the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2, arriving by the end of 2026. The trailer only confirms the arrival of the title, released in 1998, which rewrote a good part of the RPG/adventure games of the time by introducing three dimensions, new mechanics, and dungeons that could take months to complete... and is also considered one of the important games in the history of gaming.

Talking about RPGs of a certain importance, in the modern era (we're talking from the Wii onwards) Xenoblade Chronicles had introduced an immense open world without loading times on a console much less powerful than its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 counterparts. Well, Xenoblade Genesiss, was also announced for the Nintendo flagship coming in 2027.
