Lenovo announced in Zurich the expansion of its business solutions portfolio for 2026, introducing new ThinkPad X13 and L line laptops, along with the ThinkStation P4 desktop workstation. The devices are designed to run local AI workloads, support Copilot+ PC features under Windows 11, and integrate the ThinkShield hardware and firmware security suite, which features BIOS-level protections, privacy controls, and secure data erasure.

The new generation of laptops focuses on sustainability and long-term serviceability through a collaboration with iFixit, which has awarded the devices a repairability rating of up to 9 out of 10. The ultraportable ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 starts at 0.93 kilograms and is equipped with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series processors. The chassis houses USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI connections, with support for Wi-Fi 7, optional 5G connectivity, and a 5-megapixel infrared camera for video conferencing. Components that can be directly replaced by technicians or users include the battery, made entirely of recycled cobalt, the SSD, the WWAN module, and the bottom cover.

The ThinkPad L14 Gen 7 and ThinkPad L16 Gen 3 models are intended for large-scale enterprise use and share the same hardware platform based on Intel Core Ultra Series 3 or AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series processors, differing in form factors of 14 inches or larger. The technical configuration supports up to 64 gigabytes of DDR5 RAM and up to 2 terabytes of SSD storage. Connectivity includes USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, and RJ45 ports for wired networking, alongside Wi-Fi 7 and WWAN options. The L Series also implements easy replacement of the keyboard, DIMM memory modules, speakers, and recycled cobalt battery, and is shipped in completely plastic-free packaging. The ThinkPad line is expected to be available in Switzerland starting in July 2026.

In the desktop segment, the ThinkStation P4 features a 30-liter chassis powered by AMD Ryzen PRO 9000 processors, which integrate AMD 3D V-Cache technology in select models to speed up data access. The graphics department offers dedicated options up to an NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition GPU or an RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q Workstation Edition variant. The system supports up to 256 gigabytes of DDR5 RAM and features liquid cooling on the most power-hungry processors, designed to maintain stability during prolonged processing such as CAD and BIM modeling, 3D animation, simulation, and software development.

The workstation supports PCIe Gen 5 and offers four internal expansion slots, supported by a hybrid storage architecture that can accommodate up to six total drives by combining M.2 Gen 5 SSDs and high-capacity mechanical hard drives. Ports include 20 gigabit per second USB-C, DisplayPort 2.0, and an integrated 2.5 gigabit Ethernet network card. The system has ISV certifications for major software companies such as Autodesk, Dassault, Siemens, Avid, and Ansys. The chassis is partially made of eco-friendly materials, specifically the 95% made of recycled PCC-ABS plastic and the 16% made of recycled steel, with EPEAT Gold environmental registrations and Energy Star 9.0 and TCO Certified 10 certifications. The ThinkStation P4 will be available in Switzerland starting in August 2026. List prices for all products will be announced closer to market launch.
