IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios present the launch trailer for 007 First Light

IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have released the launch trailer for 007 First Light, a standalone video game focusing on the origins of James Bond. The title will be available from May 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version arriving in summer 2026. Pre-ordering guarantees a free upgrade to the Deluxe Edition, which includes 24-hour early access and exclusive cosmetic content.

The plot follows a young James Bond, played by Patrick Gibson, during his early stages in the MI6 training program. After an operation in Iceland, Bond gains the support of the head of Agency M, played by Priyanga Burford, while facing the skepticism of his instructor and former agent John Greenway, played by Lennie James. The program's first real test comes with the return of renegade agent 009, who launches a series of international missions across the Carpathian Mountains, the Aleph black market, and the base of the character Bawma, played by Lenny Kravitz.

Gameplay-wise, the experience is based on a system called Creative Approach, which allows you to complete objectives by combining direct action and stealth infiltration. The mechanics are divided between Spycraft for eavesdropping on conversations and stealing key objects, Bond's Instinct for evading suspicion and increasing accuracy in combat, and Section Q gadgets for hacking and silent neutralizations. The combat system alternates between hand-to-hand combat and long-range gunfights. In addition to the main campaign, the game includes a Tactical Simulation (TacSim) mode, set in a secret MI6 facility. This mode unlocks in its entirety after completing the main story and offers missions with score modifiers and progression-based unlocks.
