ININ Games has confirmed that R-Type Dimensions III will be released in May 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The publisher has specified that the Nintendo Switch 2 version will be distributed on a physical cartridge containing the full software, without the need for additional downloads to start.
The title features a technical overhaul with updated assets, a new lighting system, and refined animations. The software allows you to switch between classic and modern graphics modes in real time during gameplay. Integrated features include local co-op with new scoring mechanics, configurable controls, and various 3D camera settings.
The following physical editions have been announced:

Special Edition: Includes the game, an artbook, and the original soundtrack. It costs €59.99 (€69.99 for the Nintendo Switch 2 version).

Collector's Edition: Includes the Special Edition content and a dedicated figurine. The price is €199.99 for all platforms.
Pre-orders for the Collector's Edition will close on February 8, 2026, when production volumes will be finalized.
