Gamescom 2026: Ubisoft announces Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Tactics

During Gamescom Opening Night Live, Ubisoft presented two new turn-based strategy projects: Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake e Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Tactics.

Developed by Chengdu and Shanghai studios with support from Paris and Montpellier, Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake is a 3D reimagining using the Snowdrop engine of the strategy title originally released in 1999. It is scheduled for release in 2027 on PC (Ubisoft Connect, Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S and the Ubisoft+ subscription service.

The production includes the campaigns of the base game and the two original expansions, Armageddon's Blade e The Shadow of Death, bundled into a single narrative experience featuring a new prologue and previously unreleased cutscenes. In addition to support for 4K resolution, free-roaming cameras, and dynamic weather, the game also features simultaneous turn-based online play for up to eight players, the return of local Hot Seat mode, compatibility with community-created maps from the last 25 years, and a dedicated editor integrated into a UGC hub. Alongside the announcement, the publisher also released the original edition. Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete on Steam.

The second novelty is Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Tactics, a single-player turn-based tactical title developed by Ubisoft Paris, set parallel to the timeline of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. The game will debut on PC (Ubisoft Connect, Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Ubisoft+, GeForce Now and Blacknut.

As Commander “Six,” players manage a squad of four operators selected from a roster of fifteen characters from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, each with its own abilities, gadgets, and progression trees. The structure alternates base management, intel analysis, and strategic planning at the headquarters with turn-based field missions. New mechanics include environmental destruction and the "Breach" system, a feature that allows for coordinated, simultaneous assaults across maps.
