Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has announced the availability of Echoes of Aincrad for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
The new action role-playing game (JRPG) is set in the Sword Art Online universe. After creating and customizing their character through various aesthetic and attribute options, players find themselves trapped within the world's first VRMMORPG. The story unfolds within the floating fortress of Aincrad, where death in the virtual world means the end of life in reality as well. The main objective is to explore scenarios, complete quests, and overcome dungeons to free all connected users.
The gameplay involves exploration and combat alongside an AI partner, equipped with specific skills to support the protagonist. Combat dynamics are based on precise dodging and parrying, and include the "Switch" system, which allows you to swap positions with your teammate to alternate offensive and defensive actions during enemy encounters.
