Bandai Namco Studios has made available Code Vein II in Early Access mode on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The title is scheduled for official launch on January 30, 2026.
The game is a direct sequel to the 2019 action-RPG and introduces a narrative mechanic based on time travel. Players control a hunter, resurrected by his companion Lou MagMell, who must prevent a catastrophic event known as the Reconquest.
The combat system retains its structure based on blood extraction to unlock abilities and the use of Blood Codes for strategic management. Technical innovations include Cages, special equipment for fighting bosses, and an updated partnership system that allows players to switch between two combat styles. Character dynamics are governed by bond indicators, specific bonuses, and the ability to sacrifice part of a partner's health to revive the protagonist.
Avatar customization includes options for your body, hairstyle, and overall aesthetic. A photo mode and a dedicated Hot Springs hub for viewing your character in different lighting conditions have also been confirmed.
