Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new story trailer for Echoes of Aincrad, a chapter in the Sword Art Online franchise scheduled for release on July 10, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The video illustrates the narrative premise of the title, set in the first full-dive VRMMORPG where death in the game coincides with real-life death. Players will have to explore the floating castle of Aincrad, collaborating with allies and relying on information gathered by beta testers to overcome the structure's different levels.
Meanwhile, the franchise has reached the milestone of ten million units sold, celebrated with a live broadcast last March 26, 2026. On this occasion, updates were presented for Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream, a title already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The game now integrates a single-player mode with an original story that combines characters and scenarios from the anime's third season, the movie, and Gun Gale Online.
To improve accessibility and the gaming experience in Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream, a Quick Match function, a BETA Single Mode, and an accelerated character unlock system have been introduced. Pre-orders for Echoes of Aincrad are currently open across all reference platforms.
