CD Projekt Red announces Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 with a new trailer and sets a fall 2026 release date.

CD Projekt Red has released the first trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the new anime series set in the metropolis of Night City, the same setting as the video game Cyberpunk 2077. The production, once again in collaboration with Japanese animation studio Trigger, will debut exclusively on the Netflix streaming platform in the fall of 2026. This second season will follow an independent story and introduce a completely new cast of characters.

The project is directed by Kai Ikarashi, while character designs are by Ichigo Kanno. The screenplay is by Bartosz Sztybor of CD Projekt Red and Masahiko Otsuka. The video also featured the first official promotional illustration for the series, which also included ink and color supervision by Yukiko Kakita and composition by Yuichiroh Tozawa. The song featured in the trailer, titled "You Can't Run From Me" and performed by Rico Nasty, was written specifically for the show and is already available on major music streaming platforms.

CD Projekt Red has also confirmed its presence at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, scheduled for July 2-5, 2026. A panel dedicated to the series will be held on July 3, featuring showrunner Bartosz Sztybor, executive producer Saya Elder, director Kai Ikarashi, and voice actor Nazeeh Tarsha, hosted by content creator Danny Motta. During the event, attendees will be able to watch a preview screening of the first episode, which will not be recorded or streamed.
