Pearl Abyss has confirmed that Crimson Desert has surpassed the 5 million copies sold threshold globally, recording a peak of 276,261 concurrent players on Steam.

Following these findings, the developer has planned a series of improvements and new content that will be released between April and June 2026.
The main new features include the introduction of easy, normal, and hard difficulty levels, along with Boss Rematch and Re-blockading features to re-face bosses and challenges in already liberated territories. The update plan includes the addition of new abilities for the characters Damiane and Oongka, the introduction of new costumes, and the ability to visually hide weapons on the protagonist's back.

On the technical and management front, specific storage systems for food, armor, and materials will be implemented, as well as new pets and mounts. The user interface will allow for adjustable font sizes and extensive control customization for controllers and mice. The visual quality of distant landscapes will be improved, and the original soundtrack will be available for free via DLC on Steam. The title is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Mac.
