Street Fighter 6: Alex joins the roster with the Year 3 update

Capcom has announced the addition of Alex to the roster of Street Fighter 6 Starting today, March 17, 2026. The character, originally introduced in Street Fighter III: New Generation, is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The fighter can be accessed through Fighting Ground, World Tour as a new Maestro, and Battle Hub for avatar battles.

Alex can be acquired through the Year 3 Character Pass, the Year 3 Ultimate Pass, or as a standalone purchase with Fighter Coins. Two cosmetic options are available at launch: Costume 1, based on the new wrestling outfit, and Costume 2, inspired by the classic design with green pants and a red bandana. The latter can also be unlocked by maximizing your bond with the character in the World Tour. Gameplay-wise, Alex introduces the Prowler Stance, which expands his move set based on charges, throws, and high-impact strikes.

The character's release is accompanied by additional content and technical updates:

  • Costume 4 for Dee Jay and Elena: New beach-themed sets available for both fighters.

  • Game Balance: A general patch has been applied that makes fixes and stat changes to the entire roster.

  • Mega Man Star Force & Battle Network Collaboration: Introducing special login items and themed Battle Hub decorations available for a limited time.

  • JAM Project collaboration: availability of the song “Go! Alex! Hope is Born! – Alex's Theme” and new avatar items customized with the group's logo.

Today's update continues the Year 3 roadmap of Street Fighter 6, which has already seen the introduction of Sagat and C. Viper. The season will conclude in late spring with the scheduled release of Ingrid.
