Sony Updates PSSR Technology for PlayStation 5 Pro

Sony Interactive Entertainment has released a system software update for PlayStation 5 that introduces an enhanced version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This new iteration of the AI-based upscaling technology, developed in collaboration with AMD as part of Project Amethyst, aims to improve image stability, detail sharpness, and probabilistic sampling without compromising motion smoothness.

The technical improvements include both frame reconstruction and the reduction of visual artifacts such as flickering and afterimages.
