È stata un po’ il mistero dell’inverno, la data d’uscita di Driveclub, gioco di corse esclusivo Playstation 4 annunciato oramai qualche tempo fa. Dopo mesi di speculazioni, partenze sospette dal team di sviluppo e rumors incontrollati riguardo una qualità che secono alcuni insider non fosse all’altezza, finalmente Sony si è decisa a rivelare la data da segnare sul calendario: 8 ottobre 2014. Manca ancora parecchio e tale data sconfessa alcuni rumors circolati di recente che vedevano il titolo in arrivo per giugno, ma almeno sappiamo quando il gioco è destinato ad arrivare sui nostri schermi.
Secondo Evolution Studios il tempo extra necessario allo sviluppo è stato (e sarà) dedicato a migliorare e raffinare le componenti sociali (cuore di Driveclub) e la grafica del titolo. Shuei Yoshida (presidente dei Sony Worldwide Studios) ha commentato:

We appreciate the announcement has come a little late, however we wanted to inform his appointment along with the new date announcement. His experience when it comes to delivering racing games is impeccable. Previously Game Director on critically acclaimed MotorStorm RC, he has been an integral contributor to all major titles coming out of Evolution Studios since 2004. With Rushy in the lead, we know DRIVECLUB will deliver on its initial promise to be a truly next gen racing title for our PS4 portfolio.
We are really proud of the incredible work the team has produced – their tenacity and passionate pursuit of excellence is admirable and DRIVECLUB will be all the better for it.
