Helen (Carla Juri<\/strong>), a young girl experiences the world through her own bodily fluids and those of her family, friends, and partners. Obsessed with understanding how each part of her body responds to external stimuli, and raised in a sterilized and abusive family environment, Helen tells her story through flashbacks, dreams, and nightmares, which blur with reality and everyday life. Being a very frank and direct girl, Helen loves to tell everyone she meets intimate details about her body: whether they asked or not is irrelevant. <\/a><\/em>The clean photography and the vivid, almost artificial colors are contrasted with all the filth shown in the film. The tone of the film is inconsistent; at times it feels like a comedy, at times the director wants to shock the audience, at other times he shows disgusting, self-serving images. The message, expressed more than clearly, is: If Helen has problems, it's all her parents' fault (especially her mother). Thus, the director's reductive and simplistic vision of life and characters emerges. The director's sole objective seems to be to create something "scandalous" or "controversial." In trying to achieve these facile, low-level ambitions, he completely forgets the story, the characters, and that the most important thing is always trying to compose a good movie<\/em>.\u00a0Feuchtgebiete<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>It's not a bad film because it exploits and portrays "hot topics" or "taboos", but because it is a sterile, superficial and forgettable work.
